August 15th, At 12:30 in the afternoon
There's not a cloud in sight
Another pretty day
Underneath the sickening rays of the
sun
Above, The haze, I cannot beat away
But I'm spending time having
conversations sitting next to you
“Hey, but I....I kind of hate the
summertime.”
And as you pet the cat you said such an
odd thing from under your breath
Ah, and as that cat ran away
You tried to chase it in the end
Jumping right out in front of a traffic
light that shed the color red bright red
Crushing you then driving on away, That
truck heard my scream a little bit too late
Blood splashing everywhere, choking the
smell of hair, I take in my breath and let my tears out
Is this real? The heat is teasing me
“What you see is exactly what the truth is”
Underneath the blue sky, I hear
cicada's cry, then fall right back into another dark sleep
Sitting up in my bed I can hear the
sound of clocks ticking, mocking me
I look to see the time
August 15th at twelve once again I
don't see a single cloud above,
But I hear cicadas crying somewhere,
singing loudly in my head
“Hey But I....I really have to wonder
why”
I remember in that dream last night we
sat in the same park we're sitting in now
“Hey, I...I think that we should
leave”
But stepping slightly off the path
Their eyes on the sky, mouths gaping
wide pointing trying hard not to scream
Stabbing in and piercing right through
you, The pole made a scene as it fell right from the sky
The ring of an old wind chime, the
scream of a passerby, Filling the air as it hit the park trees
Is this real? The heat is teasing me
“Bet you wish you were asleep, but this is all real”
Vision is blurred away, Keeping my
thoughts at bay, I swear I see you there keeping such a dark smile
Endlessly I see that teasing haze
And again the laughing will repeat on
through the days
Dying on for the past 10 years
We are trapped in a cycle where the end
is never clear
But a story is a story after all
And today like any has an ending so to
say
Far away and beyond that scorching
summer day
Crashing in but hitting me instead of
you, I pushed you aside to nearly dodge that truck,
Blood splashing everywhere, Choking the
smell of hair, You take in your breath and let your tears out
Is this real? I haven't heard him say
“What you see is exactly what the truth is”
Maybe this summer day has finally gone
away, That's all I'll say this is where it all ends now
August 14th all alone on a bed
a girl awakes repeating all the same
Mumbling again...
“Seems I've failed again” as she
sat alone and held the cat still sleeping in her arms
